Our visit took us to the home of Boris Konoshenko and Tim Payne on a warm June afternoon. The walk from the car park was a ramble through the countryside at the loveliest time of the year. On arrival the garden is a delight. The formal beech hedging hid secret gardens, as you entered the first one the smell of roses and sweet peas was almost overpowering. Fruit trees and espaliered apples and pears ornamented other areas. A greenhouse would be able to supply tomatoes for the entire village! A formal parterre near the house helped to create the theatrical setting.

It was a privilege to walk around and enjoy a garden which was only created when the owners bought the house in 2014. Teas for about 160 members and their guests were provided by members of the local church, and were extremely popular. The Trust are very grateful to the owners for allowing our members to enjoy their garden.
