The Tate Talk was given this year by Caroline Holmes, a well known speaker and author, on Gertrude Jekyll, the artist and gardener. Gertrude Jekyll was born in Mayfair in 1843
On Saturday 10th March, Tom Williamson gave an illustrated talk on Humphry Repton to a packed hall of members and guests. As usual with Tom it was extremely interesting and was received with great enthusiasm.
This was the first time we have used the Village Hall and the volunteers gave us a very warm welcome and looked after us extremely well. We also set up our new large pop-up display which provided a professional view of the NGT and generated much interest. After the talk tea and cakes were served on tables laid with red gingham cloths and flowers. Parking was plentiful.
