On the 31st May, 2017, a beautiful sunny afternoon, Mrs Winch opened her garden for members of the NGT. In a wonderful position with views across the marshes to the sea, Kettle Hill is a garden to sigh over.

About 120 members and guests took advantage of the lovely weather and explored the lawns, walled garden, borders and woods. Everything seemed to be packed with interest from gates leading to secret gardens to mown paths through wildflower meadows. The paths through the woods offered seating in sunny glades and the rose garden near the house was a triumph of how to make rose beds look good!

Sitting in this garden having tea and cake is about as near to the quintessential English afternoon as you can get!

For those who missed this there is a chance to see it on Sun 4th June, when it opens for the NGS.
