A late Georgian garden, The Dilham Islands was once a picturesque ornamental woodland and water garden. It remains a unique Broadland feature, despite its present fall from grace. Janet Coleman looks at The Islands history.


James Pulham & Son at Sandringham
From the 1860s and on into the early 20th c. the gardens at Sandringham House were extensively redesigned. One of the major firms of designers and manufactures employed was James Pulham & Son. Scilla Latham begins to unravel the extent of their work.
Heavenly Gardens
Norwich is exceptionally rich in medieval churches, which collectively boast 12 acres of churchyard, much of it potential space for gardens. George Ishmael examines this valuable and under utilised resource and suggests new ways forward.
